Not a regular Thursday

Let’s be honest: some days are slightly more fun than others. Thursday 28th March was one of those days, where the Illuminance team had plenty to celebrate. For one, it was both our CEO’s birthday and our Junior Project Managers’ birthday. Second, we welcomed a new team member AND a student from the Illuminance Training program that ran earlier this month joined us for her first day as an intern at Illuminance!

A Saturday well spent!

illuminance Solutions collaborated with University Hall to give a one-day course; “Office 365 in the Workplace” to a group of Aboriginal and Torres Islander youth currently studying at the university. The training and unique collaboration aimed to equip the youth with essential job-readiness skills in current technology designed to improve personal and professional productivity. A Saturday well spent!

Indigenous employment programs and support

Illuminance and University Hall share a vision to provide training and internship opportunities that can lead to employment for our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Committed to developing sustainable and ongoing apprentice and trainee opportunities in the ICT sector for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, we offer quality services in a safe environment that fosters equality, diversity and unity for all.

A whole new year, with many new opportunities

Having had a look back on 2018, we can conclude that it was for us at Illuminance Solutions a very eventful year. We launched new products and Illuminance Training kicked off; we said goodbye to some staff members and welcomed new ones; we supported West Tech Assemblage again; we celebrated birthdays; we had a thank you party and many different people visited our office, of which we have now stayed in since the end of 2017.

AvantCare Incident and Complaint Management

The AvantCare Incident and complaint management module is designed to support service providers in implementing and maintaining a system to record and manage certain incidents that happen in connection with providing supports or services to people with disability. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (Incident Management and Reportable Incidents) Rules 2018 is the foundation scope of this module.

Borderless Gandhi 2018

At Illuminance, individual team members are supported to participate in community organisations that have personal significance to them, and Borderless Gandhi was Founded by our CEO Nilesh Makwana in 2014. Other staff members is also involved, and yesterday (28th August 2018) was a big day for the project and its team members, with the official announcement of the “Borderless Gandhi presents Mahatma in Colour” exhibition by the Hon Mark McGowan – Premier of WA.

New partnership to deliver significant increases in ICT capability

When reforms to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) were implemented across the country, one of the biggest restructures for disability service providers came in the form of information and communications technology (ICT) service implementation. Small service providers now have to look outwards for creative and innovative ICT solutions for service delivery. With funding from Microsoft’s Cloud for Global Good program, Illuminance created AvantCare.

Supporting Australia’s Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander Youth

In accordance with National Reconciliation Week (NRW) Illuminance Training is launching its program for closing the gap in digital literacy in Australia’s Indigenous youth. A free one-day training program to learn basic Office 365 software will be held by our own highly skilled trainers, a program that will open doors for, and present opportunities to its attendees.

About half a year ago, in September 2017, we moved from our small setup in Northbridge to a huge office space on Adelaide Terrace. With more room to flex our muscles, we have had many great opportunities and many a new client has joined us, and our staff has grown. Now, better late than never, we invited all that has supported us, helped us, guided us, corrected us and stood by us to a Thank You party.
